despite living in the mountains, where it's generally cold and snowy, t.j. has more of a California-beach-boy-type style. unless he's at work, he's usually sporting something casual, like jeans and a hip graphic t-shirt with fancy sneakers. he likes to make his outfits and general appearance look effortless, though in reality he probably had everything planned out weeks in advance. same goes for his hair; t.j. likes to let people think he just rolls out of bed looking angelic everday, but he really spends hours in the morning nitpicking at each strand, making sure they're all perfect.[/blockquote]
when it comes to theodore's overall appearance, well, he certainly isn't underprivileged. he was blessed with a fast metabolism, above average stamina, and a pretty face, and t.j. certainly isn't afraid to show it off. if you got it, flaunt it, right? his youthful face, big, puppy-like brown eyes, and suave smile have certainly given theo something to be confident about over the past few years. of course, he goes to the gym almost everyday and is highly picky over what he eats, but as they say, it's not easy being beautiful.

CHILDISH: though he's well into his young adulthood, t.j. is still like a two-year-old at heart. he likes to joke around and have a good time with whoever is willing to join him. he's totally down for playing video games, running around outside, or pulling pranks on unsuspecting bystanders -- just don't do anything to mess up his hair, or it might ruin his fun.[/blockquote]
LOYAL: friendship is something that t.j. values very greatly, though it may not always seem like it on the surface. though he tends to be the guy that has more acquaintances than friends, theo is constantly searching for someone he can really trust and open up to. he longs for that sense of camaraderie and just wants to have someone he can pal around with without being judged. he's kind of like a lost puppy, just looking for someone to run around with and stand by in times of hardship and times of happiness.
CHARMING: theo always seems to know just what to say at just the right time. he was blessed with a golden tongue, surrounded by perfectly straight pearly whites and a dashing smile. it's no wonder he excels at serving guests at the resort, because he always know just how to sweet-talk his customers into giving him a bigger tip. he's pretty smooth with the ladies around town, too. he could probably be in a relationship with any girl he wanted, if he didn't get bored with all of them so easily.
CONCEITED: a rockin' body, a stunning smile, a winning personality, is there anything theo can't do? well, he likes to think he's clark kent, but of course, sometimes he has a hard time holding his head up because he's ego is so damn big. he thinks he's god's gift to the earth, and cannot get over the fact that he has not been signed by a world-renowned acting company yet. but, good things come to those who wait, right? so, hopefully all his hard work and obsessive-compulsive attitude about his looks will pay off eventually.
PASSIONATE: though t.j. might seem like an air-head most of the time, he really puts his whole heart into anything he does. he very rarely 'half-asses' anything; in fact, despite hating his job as a waiter, he works really hard for the money he makes and always does his best to ensure his customers have an enjoyable experience when they enter his restaurant, even if some of those customers are complete assholes.

theo grew up living the high life in santa monica, california. his father was a ceo of a big-name hotel chain, his mother stayed at home and gave t.j. of all her love and attention almost twenty-four/seven. dad brought in lots of money, mom was sweet and lovely, what more could a young child want? his father really wasn't around much, but that didn't bother theo too much. his dad worked hard to bring home money for the family, and that was sufficient reason for his disappearance from t.j.'s life.[/blockquote]
not only did he have a pretty cool set of parents, they lived right on the beach in a pretty magnificent household. theo never wanted for anything; if he wanted to learn how to surf, he got it. if he wanted a new video game, it was his almost immediately. needless to say, his childhood was pretty great for a while. he made great friends with kids whose families were also rich, lived without a care in the world, and got everything he could ever dream of and more. the only problem was, his father was never there to enjoy any of it with him. at first, this wasn't a problem for t.j., he could have a grand old time on his own with all his cool toys and stuff. but as he began to get older, theo began to long for more than just 'stuff'; he wanted a dad, like all the other kids.
his mother noticed his distress over his father's absence, and tried to reason with her husband. she begged him to spend more time at home, and they began to fight more over his long business trips away from home. however, unfortunately, mr. bennett didn't budge, and continued to devote his life to his business instead of settling down with his family. things only got worse as theodore continued through high school. he stayed out more, partied harder with his friends, trying to escape the fact that his dad would rather through money than play catch. his father paid little mind to t.j.'s cries for attention, and only distanced himself more from the family he created.
things spiraled completely out of control during theodore's junior year of high school. his mother received a call that her husband had a heart attack while attending a conference in new york, and had passed away shortly after being admitted to the hospital. not only that, but to make matters worse, the news was also dropped on them that mr. bennett had been seeing another woman all along, whom of which he had two other children with, who saw their father a hell of a lot more than t.j. ever did. theo and his mother were devastated and outraged. theo's sorrow overwhelmingly turned to anger, feeling instantly betrayed and abandoned by his father's actions. but unfortunately, there wasn't much the mother-son pair could do, so they turned their energy into finding an escape.
suddenly left with humiliation and a near-empty bank account, theo and his mother fled to live with his aunt jenn, who lived in a small house in colorado with her husband and daughter, amelia. it was quite a big change from the easy-going, beach lifestyle they were used to, and at first, t.j. didn't adjust very well. the cold made him miserable and he had a hard time fitting in with the other kids. however, with time, his hurt and uneasiness began to fade. as he grew older, theo began to take on a role of responsibility and independence. suddenly, he needed to take care of his mother, who was struggling to help her sister with the mortgage and other household expenses. so, he started serving at the kittering resort, and his ideas of grandeur began to soar. he suddenly felt hopeful again that maybe he could have more than this provincial life, and became convinced that becoming famous would be the way to do it.
so, ever since he finished high school, t.j. has been determined to make it into acting. he believes he has natural talent as an actor, but whether or not that's true remains to be seen. but until he finally gets picked up by that big casting company, theo's pretty much stuck serving tables in aspen.
