Shayla has dark brown eyes, lined with thick black eyelashes, it is hard to tell where the coloured iris ends and the black of her pupils begins, since the colour is that of dark chocolate. She has a thin facial structure, with sharp cheekbones and a strong jawline, a thin albeit slightly bumpy nose, and soft, plump pink lips. She has pale skin, often a more tanned shade in the summer. Her body shape is more athletic than feminine, she doesn't have the oh so sort after hourglass shape, what little curves she does have, are extenuated by tight tank tops and skinny jeans – when she's not in her work gear of course.[/blockquote]
Shayla isn't the kind of woman to wear a lot of jewellery, sticking to a ring on her right ring finger – she's not engaged! - and a thin gold chain around her neck, with a Star of David hanging off it, she might occasionally wear a bracelet or two. Similarly, make-up is not something Shayla likes to over-apply, sticking to mascara, blush and lip-gloss mostly. There is a birthmark on her upper right back, and a few thin almost indistinguishable scars scatter her body from childhood adventures gone wrong. She's got long wavy blond hair, soft to touch. As a child she had very light coloured hair, but it darkened to a dirty blonde colour sometime into her mid-teens, she likes to have her hair down, except when working, and doesn't like when it's unwashed, so regularly makes sure to wash it.

PROTECTIVE: Shayla is very protective of her younger siblings, sometimes too protective, she can't help but want to stand up for those she loves, and is often chastened for fighting other people battles for them.
RELIGIOUS: While she doesn't practice her religion any-more, she was still brought up a jew, so she still celebrates all the holidays and makes sure to eat Kosher meat around her father. She also always wears her Star of David necklace. She believes in God, and does believe in the afterlife, but not to the extent she once did.
OPTIMISTIC: Shayla is quite the smiling person, she loves to smile and laugh, and is often frustrated when people don't smile back at her. She likes to think that everything can be made better with a hug and a smile.
STRONG: Shayla is a strong-willed person and also somewhat physically strong. She likes going for runs in the morning and enjoys going to the gym. She also has a gun license and knows how to wield a gun. There is a small handgun stuffed under her bed.
FILM BUFF: Shayla adores films, and runs a film review blog, most of her day when she isn't working or training, is spent watching films. She likes to relay random film facts from time to time if the subject is brought up.

Shayla is the oldest born to her two loving parents, Ellis and January Levy, she was born on a summers day in Israel, her mother was an American, who moved to Israel for career purposes, but promptly gave up her dream when she met Ellis and married him, a Jewish Israeli, Shayla from an early age, never wanted to be like her mother, and this prompted a rift in their relationship, but Shayla just clung onto her father, and was through and through a daddies girl. She was just a little older than 1 year old when her younger brother was born, they didn't get along well to begin with, Shayla, being jealous that her brother was monopolising their parents time and Seth being but a baby, but after the birth of their youngest brother when Shayla was 5, and Seth, 4, they began to grow close, often being left to play together.[/blockquote]
Shayla's relationship with her father was always close, with her father being her biggest role model. He was a police officer in Israel and after the move to America when she was only 10 years old, he retrained to be a police officer there, with his access to guns and his insistence that she would be able to defend herself, when she was old enough, he taught her to wield a gun, and took her to self defence classes, and she would often cause trouble in her schooling when she was bullied in school, leading to quite a few visits to the principals office. She was often caught up in scraps, and tended to get herself into trouble. But she was good at sticking up for her little brothers.
By the time she was ready to leave school and move away from Houston, she happened to walk in on her brother making out with another boy, shocked by this she slammed the door, and pretended it hadn't happened, soon after, her brother came to talk to her and explained that he didn't think their rather strict father would agree, and that he was happy with his boyfriend, so Shayla just hugged her little brother, told him it was all okay with her what he did, and finished up her packing. After she learned of this, she began to grow frustrated with homophobic actions, always thinking of her closest brother, and imagining him on the receiving end.
She moved away to New York, chasing the dream that she would join in broadway and become an actress, she became a waitress, trying to pay her way through acting school, but after a few rejections from different auditions, she gave up, choosing instead to move away to Aspen, packing up again, this time moving to be closer to her family, who'd recently moved up their themselves, and got herself a job waiting tables once more. She started looking into training, and into the nearest police academy, and hasn't had the nerve to apply yet, she has learnt from experience that rejection isn't exactly pleasant, and she doesn't really want to be rejected again.
