Jordan wasn't sure if Ray wanted to go to the holiday party downstairs but she decided that she certainly wanted to. Parties were fun, especially ones that involved snacks, alcohol and a variety of holiday and winter themes music. It could be fun. Besides, there could be cute rich boys there.
Not to mention the whole town could come, so maybe Hadley would be there?
Jordan stood at the mirror in the bathroom, applying her red lipstick quietly before shouting. "Ray, you gonna come to the party with me or what?" She didn't really want to admit that she wanted Ray around to help make sure she kept her cover, it was a little unnerving to talk in an accent that wasn't hers all the time.
They hadn't been able to spend too much time together, as they'd split up some to look for Hadley. Jordan had of course done most of the parties and clubs in the area too because if she was going to pretend to be famous, then she'd rather take advantage of it.
ooc- not sure where the parker/ray and jordan/justin threads fit into this, so we can just fudge some timing.

Ray believed that rocker chics had to look like they didn't care or try too much. That was the rule she was going by during their obvious fraud. On one hand, it was convenient because Ray didn't exactly have designer clothing. On the other hand, being a rebel made you stand out, which was unnerving and exhausting after a while. Ray got looks everywhere she went, but she had to play it cool. Stoic.
Which was hard because internally Ray was actually insecure, and the whole act and all the attention was starting to grind on her nerves. She would've loved nothing more than to be an invisible girl once again and not feel the eyes everywhere. All kinds of eyes. Jealous eyes. Judging eyes. Starstruck eyes. Ray was getting paranoid.
Also because she was pretty sure they were committing a crime. Why had she ever suggested it? She thought it would last a few days, but not this long. And every day brought the fear that today could be the day they'd discovered.
When the security guard approached her yesterday to ask if she needed any assistance, it took all Ray's courage not to run away before he spoke up. She later ran into the bathroom anyway to have a proper panic attack.
It was a good thing their room had a impeccably equipped bar.
Meanwhile Jordan seemed to be having the time of her life, which Ray secretly resented. It felt to Ray as though she was making all the sacrifices on their search for Hadley, but Ray also didn't want to start a fight. She couldn't weather it.
Ray would've felt better properly dressed up so she'd just blend in, but she had an image to maintain. The I'm-too-individual-and-free-spirited-to-care-about-conforming-to-your-standards look.
When Jordan called out, Ray had gotten dressed what seemed ages ago. She lay, fully clothed, on her bed staring at the ceiling thinking about undercover cops and all the strain they must be under. She had a newfound respect for law enforcement and vowed to hug the next cop she came across.
Unless he was the one coming to take her away for deceiving all of Aspen.
Ray barely turned. "I'm already ready." she called back casually, trying to cut the exhaustion out of her voice. They had to been together, right? They were a group.

Jordan sighed and walked to the door of the bathroom, looking at Ray laying on the bed, looking at the ceiling. "Pretending is exhausting." She voiced quietly, feeling the way Ray looked. Jordan was used to spotlight, being on sports teams her whole life, but this was different, this was dangerous and Jordan wasn't sure how much more she could take.
Not to mention they had no real leads on Hadley.
"Maybe Hadley'll be there?" Jordan said, trying to be hopeful. She'd brought them to Aspen on a hunch that wasn't paying off. She felt stupid and silly and odd. Looking for her sister who may or may not actually be in trouble, sitting on Justin Timberlake's lap, a fake accent... it was more than one girl could deal with. Jordan was alright at playing the part, but she wasn't as good at it as Ray seemed to be.
Then again though, Jordan had never been very good at reading Ray, which was part of their problem.
Jordan took a step and opened the door with another sigh. "God, I need a drink. Let's go." She said, barely remembering to speak with an accent as she pulled the door open--just in case. Her tongue was getting tired. She just wanted to know what happened to Hadley, and get to be herself with her sisters again, not random rock stars that no one had ever heard of.
Grown up Christmas List was playing in the distance and Jordan chuckled, but she really felt sort of sad. This was going to be a weird Christmas.

"Yeah..." Ray said slowly, just to say something, because she didn't really listen to Jordan initially. Then the words reached her brain, as though they were on some sort of delay. And when she thought about it, it actually seemed like a really stupid idea.
A ritzy Christmas party would be the last place a troubled woman would go ... right? What, Hadley was well enough to party with a bunch of rich people, but not well enough to pick up a phone and tell her family?
How did that make any sense?
But bringing it up seemed more trouble than it was worth. Last time Ray brought up something that didn't make sense (to her) ...
... a sudden flash of Jordan's fierce expression came to Ray's mind, along with the words She might!
Ray still couldn't figure out what had shocked her more in that moment: the reaction of the implication?
Jordan mentioned needing a drink, and Ray closed her eyes to keep from rolling them. It infuriated her to hear Jordan complain when she was so obviously fine.
When Ray forced herself up and followed Jordan out the door, she even heard Jordan chuckle. Honestly, what troubles did that girl have? She was living the life she probably always wanted and meeting hot celebrities like she probably also always wanted.
"Oh." Ray said suddenly, remembering something earlier. She fell into the accent like a pair of worn boots. Hearing herself talk like that actually helped - it was like suddenly letting another person take over while retreating into the background. Half the time she felt like she was watching someone else walk around and be from a distance."We have a website."

"No shit?" Jordan said at the comment of a website. That was an excellent set up though, some credibility to their fake cover. Jordan wondered if she had to tell Jordan about how she'd divided up their roles when she tried to cover with Justin Timberlake...In any case, a website was good. "Good thinking." Jordan said, giving Ray a little smile. She still felt like she was doing everything wrong.
Jordan led the way to the elevator and hit the down button. Thankfully it didn't take too long to arrive and soon they were headed downstairs together. Jordan felt an overwhelming urge to apologize, but what for she wasn't sure, and thus decided to keep her mouth shut. On some level she felt like crying, but she could never admit that to Ray.
The door opened onto the main hallway, the music much louder now and Jordan led the way to the ballroom, trying not to rush. She'd feel better in a crowd. When she opened the door, she finally smiled. It felt like something out of Harry Potter, big trees and decorations hanging from high ceilings.
